To get Insect Breathing in Slayers 2, reach level 25 on the Slayer path and bring 3,500 Wen, 15 Demon Horns and 3 Beast Cores to the trainer Shinora in Butterfly Mansion. The trainer then sets six training tasks: five mini-games, then a fight with the Insect Trainee. Fast thrusts that apply poison stacks. Insect has low base damage but the poison keeps ticking after you disengage, which makes it excellent for hit-and-run. Insect Breathing requirements
Shinora asks for all of this before the training starts:
- Level 25
- Slayer path
- 3,500 Wen
- 15 Demon Horns
- 3 Beast Cores
Farm the materials before the trip, or you walk back for them. Demon Horns drop from demons; Pro Game Guides farms the Hoyuzo boss's subordinates (a 30% chance of one horn) or the Hoyuzo boss itself (a 50% chance of three). Beast Cores drop from Beast Born Demons, with a 50% chance each.
Insect Breathing training tasks
The tasks unlock one at a time in this order, and the quest marker leads to each training area.
- Meditation. Butterfly Mansion: the mat in the second room of the big house to the right of the spawn crystal. Click each time the moving bar crosses the white marker until the meter is full.
- Aim Training. Butterfly Mansion: the target-shooting range near the big house to the right of the spawn crystal. Start at either target board and click the targets as they pop up.
- Cup Training. Butterfly Mansion: the small mat in the third room of the big house to the right of the spawn crystal. Pick the cup that hides the coin 10 times. A wrong pick costs one of three lives and the shuffle speeds up each round; the coin is easier to follow in daylight.
- Push Ups. Butterfly Mansion: the push-up mat in the big house to the right of the spawn crystal. Click each white circle just as the inner ring is about to touch its edge. Standing up with a red aura means the set failed.
- Boulder Split. Two giant boulders between Windy Peak and Mistfall Harbor, in front of the Boulder Push maze. Drag each slider to the far end of its line; when every slider is across, the boulder splits.
- Beat the Insect Trainee. Just outside Butterfly Mansion.
Winning that fight unlocks Insect Breathing. Open the Skill Tree afterwards and spend your skill points on its forms. Training areas on the map: Butterfly Mansion.
